Tortilla Wrap

100% Whole Wheat Tortilla
Chicken
Hummus
Guacamole
Matchstick Carrots
Goddess Dressing
Hot Sauce from Trader Joe's
Spinach

This recipe is out of this world. I just had it with hot sauce this evening and it's better than any wrap I've ever had. I didn't hold back on the guacamole either.

Autumn Morning

When finally the mosquitoes have started their winter slumber and the morning air becomes crisp and brisk, then is autumn in Ohio.

Last night was your Weeblos pack meeting with Pack 85 at St. Luke's Church. This is your third year in your den with John Simpson. Rich Cutter is den leader this year.

You complained of a stomach ache in the morning so we skipped school. Instead we we took Breeanna to her program at the Narrows. She is taking a Nature Preschool with Mrs. Mel this month.

Throughout the program you listened to Tom Swift and his Aerial War Ship on www.librivox.org. It's a fictional story about a boy inventor (that was reccommended for fourth grade by the Robinson homeschool site. The site makes reccommendations of public domain books that children read on their own. Mr. Robinson is a scientist who had many homeschool children. His wife died and he didn't have time to work with each child yet he still wanted to homeschool. He designed a curriculum in which children educate themselves from their readings using free public domain books).

After the Nature Play Program, Breeanna napped and you read The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan. I have feeling that you will know more about Egyptian gods than I ever will as it is a main subject running throughout this series.

As night descended mommy talked to you about Manners...how important it was to understand that your words and actions have an impact on others and how each will reap a consequence accordingly.

Then we read a chapter from The Story of Science about Thomas Acquinus and how he bridged the ideas of Middle Age theology and the science of Aristotle.

Chis is reading a chapter from The Red Pyramid to Bryan.

Pre-Teen Lock In

Last night you attended your first Pre-Teen Lock In at the Prairies Youth Center. The staff took the kids to Lazer Quest then Mini Golf. Everyone had a pizza party. Kevin said it was sort of like a sleepover but noone really sleeps.

Daddy finally got back from his three week trip to Colorado, Las Vegas and Washington DC. He picked you up this morning from the Praries and you put forth a lot of effort toward doing well in soccer this morning.

Afterwards daddy took you and Breeanna to the Beavercreek Herb Festival. Daddy said some guy was talking about the god of wine when you offered, "Dionysis?" Daddy said the guy was really impressed. Daddy and the guy didn't know you had read the Lightning Thief series and Dionysis aka Mr. D, is an obnoxious distasteful character who wields Greek god powers and happens to be your favorite Greek god.

Anyhow mommy is so glad daddy is finally home to take you and Breeanna to your endless list of outings. Our laundry got a little behind and we were a little short on clothing.

The weather has finally cooled off from our long hot summer without air conditioning.

This past week was the start of your programs at the Kroc Center.

You did a reading and cooking program that you said was boring.

You did a writing program which seemmed to put you ill at ease.

Finally you did a singing program which was great as the singing teacher said that you had talent. Woo hoo! I think I like him.

We are keeping your miscelaneous papers in plastic page protectors and it's truly amazing how full your life has been since the start of summer.

You have 1 racing ribbon, 1 ribbon for your 4-h Action Figures collection, 1 ribbon from your 4-h Gourd that you painted at Garden Club, flyers from Dance Camp as well as Jungle Book.

I wish I had your life. You have so many great activities.

Love,
Mom
